Helen (she/her) serves as a fellow for CivicSpark, an AmeriCorps program centered around building capacity for local public agencies to address community resilience issues. As a Housing Justice Fellow, Helen leads RSSC in its affordable housing and homelessness initiatives.
Helen’s studies helped her cultivate an academic lens from which to examine injustice. Her work experience has focused on affecting change in communities, most recently serving as a Field Department intern for the Portland chapter of the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU). In college, Helen worked with Massachusetts State Senator Joanne Comerford’s office on affordable housing policy. She is dedicated to applying the knowledge she gained through this experience into her housing justice work at RSSC.
Helen earned her Bachelor’s degrees in Politics and English from Mount Holyoke College in Massachusetts. In her free time, Helen loves to cook, listen to music, hike, and spend time with friends.
