Bio

Emily (she/her) serves as a fellow for CivicSpark, an AmeriCorps program centered around building capacity for local public agencies to address community resilience issues. As a Housing Policy Fellow, Emily works closely with the Housing Justice Coalition to address barriers to long term supportive housing within the Stockton community through research and targeted outreach.

Emily is a Central Valley native, interested in policy that focuses on issues relating to poverty. Emily’s academic experience centered around law, public policy, and sociology within California. As a student, Emily worked for the UC Davis Educational Opportunity Program as a Community Retention Advocate. She also interned for California’s 10th Congressional District, and the state Department of Housing and Community Development, where she conducted internal research and recommended best strategies for improvement of the state’s Regional Housing Needs Assessment methodology.

Emily received her Bachelor’s degree in Political Science, with a minor in Sociology, from the University of California, Davis. During her free time, Emily enjoys reading, practicing yoga, and spending time with her rescue animals.
